LOS ANGELES, CA -- 06/04/09 -- The National Notary Association
(NNA), the voice of America's 4.8 million Notaries, and Safedocs, a
provider of compliant Web-based digital document signing and work flow
platforms, today announced that Safedocs has incorporated the NNA's
secure eNotarization system into its product offerings.
Among the key features of the system is confirmation -- before a
digital signature and/or seal is applied to the document -- of the
Notary's electronic signature and commission status through the NNA's
National eNotary Registry(TM), enabling all parties involved in the
transaction to validate the Notary in real time and imparting
confidence and trust in the Notary's authority.
The system thus minimizes risk to transacting and relying parties
performing electronic notarial acts and significantly raises the
security and trustworthiness of electronic documents by assuring in
real time that that the notarization has been performed by a Notary
whose electronic signature and commission have been confirmed.
By using the NNA's ENS(TM) Electronic Notary Signature digital
certificate and the Safedocs signing platform, strong protection
against unauthorized notarial acts is achieved.
"Validating a Notary's ENS through the National eNotary Registry
allows transacting and relying parties to know who the Notary is even
before the electronic signature is applied to the document," states
William A. Anderson, the NNA's Director of eNotarization and Best
Practices.
Notaries require no special training to implement the system. Once
they have a digital certificate, they are immediately entered into the
Registry. With the Safedocs platform, Notaries can increase their
workflow and take advantage of important new business
opportunities.
"The Safedocs platform is fully-compatible with existing systems
used by businesses for creating electronic documents and records. By
fulfilling the need to electronically facilitate millions of loan
modifications currently being handled by the lending industry, the
system is ideal for use with eMortgage and real property transactions
and helps speed through the required workflows and electronic
notarization process -- regardless of complexity," said Terry Van
Bibber, President of Safedocs Inc. "Additionally, the system increases
customer service by offering a greatly enhanced, secure, anti-fraud
electronic signing experience"
Though ideal for the lending industry, the advantages of secure and
compliant signing and notarization of digital documents provided by the
Safedocs platform also extend to other businesses. Through the Safedocs
platform, industries and organizations in legal, insurance, government
and other fields greatly benefit by minimizing risk associated with the
signing and notarizing of digital documents.
